Hey everyone!
I wanted to get some thoughts on tire rotation frequency. I know it's one of those maintenance tasks that's easy to forget, but it's crucial for extending tire life and ensuring even wear.
I've always heard the general rule is to rotate your tires every 5,000 to 7,500 miles, but some factors can affect how often you should rotate them. Things like:
- Driving Habits: Aggressive driving, sharp cornering, or heavy braking can cause uneven wear, requiring more frequent rotations.
- Tire Type: Performance tires may wear differently than all-season tires, for example.
- Vehicle Type: Front-wheel drive (FWD) and rear-wheel drive (RWD) vehicles wear tires differently. FWD cars tend to wear the front tires faster, while RWD cars wear the rear tires more.
- Road Conditions: If you drive on rough, uneven roads or in harsh weather conditions, it could impact how your tires wear.
Also, I've heard it's a good idea to rotate them every time you get an oil change if you follow a 6,000-mile oil change interval. But I'm curious, do you stick to the recommended rotation intervals, or do you adjust based on your experience?
Looking forward to hearing what everyone does with their tire rotations! Does anyone here rotate more frequently than the recommended interval?
Cheers!
